Originally established in 2018 as The Surgeons Impact Fund, The HOPE Fund was the result of a partnership between the Kooyong Group and Melbourne-based hepatic, pancreatic and biliary (HPB) and upper gastrointestinal surgeons.

Undergoing major surgery is a significant life event, with the recovery process for HPBUGI cancers physically and mentally demanding. While research into these cancers has led to improvements, there is an ongoing need for research in improving treatment and outcomes.

Our projects look at innovative ways to support patients, such as an exercise program to boost surgery recovery through HIIT Cancer and other projects here.
